What Field Companion collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Field Companion is the mobile companion to The Emergency Management Field Guide: Leading Through Chaos and Calm by Steele & Haak, published by EM Revolution, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
We don't use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we never sell your data.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (handled securely by our backend provider, Supabase; we never see or store your password in plain text) and, optionally, your full name.
Content you create in the app
This includes checklist responses you fill in, reminders you schedule, and any feedback you submit, including optional file attachments such as screenshots.
Device information for notifications
If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver the reminder alerts you've scheduled.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account, and keep your saved checklists and reminders in sync across your devices.
- To send you the reminder notifications you've scheduled.
- To respond to feedback and bug reports you submit.
Data Storage
App data is stored using Supabase, our backend hosting provider, and is encrypted in transit. Some content, like checklist progress, is also cached on your device for offline use in the field.
Your Choices
- Sign out at any time from the Profile screen.
- Delete your account and data by emailing support@emrevolution.net with the subject "Delete My Account." We'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days of a verified request.
- Push notifications can be disabled at any time from the Profile screen or your device's system settings.
Children's Privacy
The app is intended for emergency management professionals and adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we do.
